Coconut Water = Baby Juice

Already behind on my blog, but for good reason. Got to see Joanie on Saturday (aka Hippy Sistah) I stopped in Cafe Soliel, which is awesome by the way and run by the most beautiful woman ever (that'd be Joanie). She gave me this amazing drink which I would recommend to anyone, especially if they need an upper. Such a sweetheart, she threw in TWO shots of espresso! I got an excellent hug and caught up and then Dave and Heather showed up along with John (all ZAC employees) and then Amy! It was like a little reunion and I loved it. Happy late birthday to Amy by the way!

I headed to the ZAC shop and helped clean gear and talk to Dude Man about random what-have-yous while waiting for Joanie to get out of work (Scored myself a free Bob Marley t-shirt in the lost and found bin, sucka!) and then met up with Joanie at the River to split a 6 pack of Blue Moon. If you don't think that was an epic day, I feel sorry for you. I also was stoked about the bonfire at Dude Man's, which turned into a whiskey drinking movie quoting type of get-together (Sweet). It was just Myles, Shelley, me and the boys, but good times for sure.

Sunday I decided to make my mom's famous Milkway Cake for Easter. I used two whole bags of mini milky ways and two sticks of butter. It started like this and let's just blame it on altitude that it turned into an overflowing mess in the oven, shall we? I tried to save it by destroying it, mixing it with whipped cream, and calling it Bread Pudding, but it didn't fool anyone. The boys all ate some though (think they have diabetes now) and claimed it to be delicious. I thank them kindly for that! I had come home a little late with the rest of the crew from cleaning gear and it was nice to have all that Easter food ready and waiting (ham, green bean casserole, deviled eggs and sage biscuits!)  Sunday is also the day I discovered my brakes were leaking some sort of fluid and pretty much non-existent.

Luckily the next day, Kevin said he could fix them for me so I rode down the mountain in 2nd gear with one foot near the brakes and another near the emergency brake just in case. It was a pretty exciting ride, but not really. Thankfully Kevin is an extremely awesome Rochester man and fixed my car for dirt cheap. I still have to replace the brake cables (which are completely rusted through), but I can at least get safely to LA now. Mad props to him for dealing with it for almost 5 hours.

Joanie occupied me with Alberto fatty ass burritos which are the bomb.com! They are like the size of my forearm and less than $4! She then gave me a tour of their home which has a kick ass living room that I want (look at those red walls!) and even a gear room. What's a gear room? Oh just a room for tents, climbing gear, hiking stuff, etc - pretty much a room of epic awesomeness!

Here is the other reason Kevin rocks ya socks:These posters were the best part (oh yea he's a Pearl Jam fan and he collects 'em!) Joanie has now made me addicted to Coconut Water which is cheap at Wal-mart according to her and thus what I will be living off of while in San Diego. I drank a 40 oz can of it - DELISH! Apparently it has the same nutrients as amniotic fluid (hmm go figure). After talks of tattoos, yoopers, upstate NY, and Pearl Jam, I got a good hug and set off to meet up with Amelia,

I would like to thank Amelia and Matt both for meeting up with me (since I canceled our hike due to Blue Steel) and getting blizzards with me. It was nice to catch up outside of the shop and great to see both their faces. Amelia is due in about 4 months so she looks even more adorable right now!

Finally, I filled up Blue Steel, got a little sun on my arms from pulling weeds with Joanie (yay!), and got to eat a dinner of homemade Nachos via Buckingham Palace (Shelley). I should be packing right now, but honestly, I'd rather set my alarm for 6am and pack and clean my car then. It's been real Utah, thanks for the good times! Tomorrow at 9am, I will be headed to LA for 8 hours - wish me luck in that traffic (I'll have my calming reggae and rap ready to go).

PS - Forgot to mention: I have spent my entire week with dogs and will get to see two more puppy puppers when I get to LA - baaalllliiinnnn!
