state but Julian!)

On the road to Vegas ~ Arrived, checked-in, bikinis on, hit that pool for two hours. Ate, took about 3hours to get ourselves ready for the night, roamed the desert and enjoyed Vegas as adults do. Thank you to the stripper I bought the cheap beer from on the street! Would also like to thank the Monte Carlo for having the best pillows and insanely nice beds! The next day was filled with walking, eating, shopping, and of course some gambling. Megan taught me how to play roulette (tossin them chips) at Paris Vegas Hotel & Casino. Didn't miss the Bellagio and the water show either.

Met up with Chris and Rebecca to enjoy one more day together before I leave for San Diego. We hit up long beach so she could drop her stuff off to a few jewelry stores that she sells in. These are a few of my favorite pieces of hers (that I could wear with almost anything). She let me choose one from her doubles and I now have an original Spina bullet casing necklace (it's a key). If you look at her logo it's a bullet with a recycle sign over it since she melts down old casings for the necklaces, on the back it says "using arms to make art". Yea, she is pretty clever. After we narrowly escaped a swarm of bees that looked like a plague scene from "The Reaping", we headed to the doggie beach.

Rebecca and Lucky beaching it up |

This place is astounding for dog lovers, I wanted to take a few home with me. DOGS EVERYWHERE! It was Lucky's first time to the beach too, but he was not enjoying the waves. It made me want a dog very badly, so maybe I will look into the "Fostering Day" for pets where you can take them out for walks and play with them for the day while they are waiting to be adopted. Laid out for a while and then headed home.
For any of my friends utterly disgusted with my incredibly pasty white skin, you should be happy to know it is now getting darker. Not from the beaches either, I am getting burned and slightly tanned merely from sitting in the hot sun in LA traffic consistently. Of course it is mostly on my left arm.
Ended the day with Megan and Norali stopping in to say Bye before Megan leaves for Wisconsin/Alaska. Wish I would have not been sick because I would have loved to go down to the tattoo shop with them and watched her get her last LA tat (she had her grandparents signatures tattooed on her, isn't that adorable?) Probably better, because I would have ended up getting one and spending money I need for housing.
Today I am re-packing everything, moving things, and buying last minute items so I can head down to San Diego for the night. I have booked my hostel for 5 nights since I have a weekend overnight trip with the kids in Joshua Tree for Rock Climbing. Start work on Monday ~ nervous and excited, but totally ready. Wish me luck!
Is a pudgey pie the same thing as a hobo pie? You put a bunch of veggies in foil and cook it on the coals of the campfire?
ReplyDeleteTerra - No, Pudgey pie = you take two pieces of white bread, spread one side of each slice with butter, put the buttered side inside of a steal sandwhich maker, put pie filling between the two slices, shut the steel sandwhich maker around it and heat it in the fire. DELICIOUS!
